NWAY - WEX Foundation

New Worlds Await You (NWAY) supports the WEX Foundation’s commitment to enriching the Space-STEM workforce by tapping into the talent of young people, focusing on project-based learning at the middle school level.

NWAY offers high-quality Space-STEM programs featuring unique partnerships with local, regional, and national networks of in-school and out-of-school time (OST) education providers. Since its inception, NWAY has been fully funded by NASA to enrich the Space-STEM workforce by engaging, educating, and inspiring the next generation of space exploration investigators, innovators, and entrepreneurs.

NWAY Aims to

Implement Space-STEM curriculum that increases STEM interest, awareness, and persistence, especially in the area of space exploration.

Incorporate NASA mentors, facilities, and education materials into the classroom and out of school time (OST) STEM programming.

Empower educators and OST providers to implement quality Space-STEM programming accessible to students who are underserved and typically underrepresented in STEM fields.

Provide Space-STEM pedagogical training including collaborative learning methods for teachers and teacher candidates.

NWAY II - NEXT GENERATION

Beginning in the 2024 school year, students across West Texas and Eastern New Mexico will participate in the NASA funded NWAY II project.
